Chickenbone Blues Band

One of Birmingham's premier acoustic blues and swing/jazz bands, Chickenbone Blues bring the sounds of the Mississippi Delta and Chicago blues to the streets of Birmingham. The band members are:
'Chickenbone' John Wormald - on amplified acoustic guitar. His sound is influenced by early Lightnin Hopkins and John Lee Hooker. John teaches slide guitar and has studied with Kevin Brown and US slide maestro Catfish Keith.
Dave Smith - ex 7:17 Blues and on harmonica.
Pete Harris - on drums.
Ken Stratford - on double bass to add depth, punch and a jazzy groove.
Influences include Muddy Waters, Robert Johnson, Lightnin Hopkins, Ry Cooder and  John Lee Hooker.
